Reflections on My Experience as a Teaching Assistant in Negotiation and Dispute Resolution

After the challenges brought on by COVID-19, I had the unique opportunity to step into the role of a teaching assistant for the SMU graduate class in Negotiation and Dispute Resolution. Over the course of ten semesters, I not only supported the learning of my peers but also deepened my own understanding of the subject.

This experience allowed me to engage with a diverse group of students, each bringing their own perspectives and backgrounds to the table. I found it incredibly rewarding to facilitate discussions, host study sessions, and help students navigate complex negotiation scenarios. The classroom became a vibrant space for exploring various strategies and resolving disputes, with real-world applications that resonated with all of us.

Through this role, I not only honed my negotiation skills but also developed a passion for teaching and mentoring. It has been a fulfilling journey, and I look forward to seeing how my experiences will shape my path in the future. Sharing knowledge and witnessing personal growth in others has truly been one of the highlights of my academic career.
